Subaru (Series McRae)

Border Reivers are delighted to offer this impressive Series McRae Subaru.

Launched in June 1995  Prodrive produced 200 of this special edition to celebrate the victory of Colin McRae in the WRC and also Subaru taking the manufactures title. The build run was limited to 200 cars. The Series McRae cars were painted in Rally Blue mica the only available colour. The cars numbered from 1 to 201, number 13 has not been built. The specification included unique Recaro sports seats featuring open headrests, front wing and rear panel mounted badges and a numbered plaque on the centre console, 6.5 x 16″  8 spoke alloy wheels in gold (Speedline), Pirelli P zero 205/50 ZR 16 tyres, Factory fit sunroof. The price new was £22999.00

This car was the result of an insurance claim for a damaged rear bumper & rear panel back in the day when it had next to no monetary value. It was purchased back from the insurance with minimal damage the rear panel as you can see from the later restoration pictures it has all its original rear panels including its quarters & boot floor. The car has had a full body restoration since, making it the beautiful car it is today. Very much a modern classic.

The series McRae is an extremely rare car today, according to HowManyLeft, only 8 cars are currently registered in the UK, with 62 SORN.
