Porsche 911 Supersport

Border Reivers  are thrilled to be able to offer yet another genuine & rare Porsche to the market. This 1986, matching numbers Porsche is the rare Supersport. It comes with a full service history.
The 3.2 Carrera is regarded as the definitive development of the original 911 that first appeared in 1963 before the evolution to Type 964. These ‘last of cars’ were the most tractable and usable of Butzi Porsche’s original design.
The all-alloy, flat-6, fuel injected engine received a final displacement of 3.2 litres developing a torquey 231hp – enough to thrust the slippery new Carrera from 0-100 km/h in just 5.6 seconds.
One of the most collectable 911’s on the market is the 3.2 Carrera Supersport or factory optioned Widebody, produced from 1984 through to 1989.
Known as option code M491, the costly Supersport package wasn’t just cosmetic offering aggressive wider wheel arches, rear spoiler and wider Fuchs wheels, it also included cross-drilled discs with four-piston aluminium callipers and suspension taken directly from the 911 Turbo.
The option to upgrade to M491 didn’t come cheap with prices ranging from £10,000-£15,000 depending on the year of manufacture, which kept production numbers low making genuine M491 equipped models incredibly hard to find and very collectable today.
This original right hand drive 3.2 Carrera Supersport, ordered in Preussisch Blue Metallic (33X).
Delivered new to the UK by Maltin Porsche of Henley on Thames.

The drive is still phenomenal, well balanced with characteristic 3.2 litre torque and spine tingling whirring purring air-cooled soundtrack from the rear.
One of just 269 right hand drive Supersport coupés produced worldwide, believed to be 1 of only 100 such C16 models produced for the UK. Rarely are these cars found in such great condition and even less often are they made available to own, drive.
With both local and international interest beginning to soar, if there was ever a time to invest in a rare Porsche, this example without a doubt presents a very sound acquisition.
This car comes with its original document wallet and all its maintenance hand books including an original stamped-up service booklet plus numerous invoices, going back over 20 years, with total expenditure on the car by the current custodian alone totalling approximately £20,000. 2 sets of keys, the original jack with the correct decals. The original date stamped alloy spare wheel. The original tool roll. The original spare wheel bag & paper Porsche gloves.
The previous custodian had owned the car since 2009, always ensuring that it has been well-maintained and serviced.  In 2016, the car was treated to a full respray in its original rare colour of Preussisch Blue Metallic (33X), taking the opportunity to address some minor bodywork issues at the same time.  Assured in the knowledge that all this maintenance means the car drives and performs very well, Indeed, the car’s current MOT Certificate until July 2018 shows no advisories.  This car still has a lot of Fun to give thanks to its dutiful ownership history.
This is a real opportunity to join an illustrious group of ‘Supersport’ owners at a very accessible price.  With prices for the standard 3.2 Carreras on the march, securing a rare and desirable example such as this, while you still can, may well be one of your better decisions……this is a bargain.
