Lotus Elan Sprint

Border Reivers are delighted to be offering this beautiful Lotus Elan Sprint from 1973 with a genuine 33,000 miles from new. The Sprint was the final version of Colin Chapman’s fabled Elan, Sold between 1971 to 1973, following the Series 1, 2, 3 and 4. Essentially, the sprint was an uprated S4, fitted with a more powerful version of the Lotus twin cam engine. Some see the Sprint as a tuned S4, there is no doubt that Lotus intended it to be a separate version of the Elan (an S5 in effect) and it was marketed as such. The Sprint has become one of the most sought after Elan types and they are relatively few in number.

This particular car is believed to be the very last Sprint Drop Head Coupe built by the factory according to Graham Arnold of the Lotus Elan Sprint  Register . Finished in Carnival red over Cirrus white with a black leather interior. Genuine minilite wheels and fitted with a new hood.

This car is Border Reivers standard having had thousands of pounds spent on a full restoration/preservation covering the chassis ,interior, exterior and mechanicals in 2014. Having covered only 700 miles since the work was done the car still looks new.

The car has a large history file from 1974 confirming the low mileage and showing the preservation works that have been carried out. This has got to be one of the nicest Elans out there.

Last one made, in amazing condition, your chance to buy one of the most desirable Elan variants which wants for nothing. Fantastic history, oh and did we mention how it handles.

This will not disappoint. Specialist car covers, Tailored car cover included.
