Austin Healey 3000 BJ8 1967

Border Reivers are delighted to offer this extremely well sorted big Healey (BJ8), definitely build for driving …. this is no trailer Queen.

Originally a Lhd dry climate car imported & registered 1998. This is a very late production car (1967)  just 3411 from the end of the line world wide (Chassis -Vin 43026)

Restored by JME Healey with an all aluminium body with side wing vents to assist engine cooling.

Up graded mechanically by current owner (2007 to date)

Engine build by Dennis Welch.

Full race alloy head.

Triple 2” SU carbs

Fast road cam.

Upgraded overdrive.

Block pocketed to accommodate.

Lightened and balanced.

Harmonic dampener on crank.

Gearbox and O/D rebuilt by Denis Welch.

Uprated plunger for faster more positive engagement.

Alternator conversion.

Larger Anti-roll bar.

Thin belt and alloy pulleys.

Alloy back plate.

Crankshaft oil seal conversion.

Mallory distributor, with electronic (optical) ignition, points with car.

High torque starter

Spin on oil filter 

Oil cooler.

High flow side exit stainless steel exhaust and manifold.

Upgraded suspension with Bilstein gas shocks all round.

Putzke’s Fahrspass conversion, easily put back if required but i would not!

Suspension upgraded with poly bushes all round.

New bearings, seals half shafts etc

Negative camber bushings and adjustable plates.

New king pins

Steering rack conversion.

Wood rim steering wheel.

Monza alloy filler cap.

Alloy rocker cover.

Full grey hide interior.

Seat belts.

Metallic Astral Silver Coachwork.

Brakes upgraded with vented rear hubs and upgraded vented front discs and pads.

Running gear/suspension, rear axle etc was all shot blasted as new and painted with POR 15.

POR 15 is set by moisture rather than evaporation and is very tough and very rust preventative.

Car fully wax oiled professionally  chassis, internal and external, inside all panels.

You will struggle to find any hint of rust on this vehicle.

Car comes with a hood tonneau cover, large A4 history file.

You wouldnt come near to replicating this for anywhere near our asking.
